Thrift Store Finds With each artwork, I weave a story from long-forgotten glass—fragments of lives once lived, discovered in thrift stores, garage and yard sales, abandoned buildings, and swap meets. Ashtrays, pressed plates, candy and butter dishes, even shards of old shower doors and windows, each carries its own memory, its own whisper. These treasures come from California’s High Desert towns, whose very names feel like stories: Amboy, Chambliss, Landers, Wonder Valley. In these forgotten places, the glass waits patiently, ready to be reborn into a new narrative.
I join highly textured glass pieces using a technique similar to stained glass, employing lead, solder, and wire to create beautiful, engaging works of art that radiate life and joy. The experience comes full circle when visitors come to the studio and invest in my creations—art that gives new life to found glass and will continue to inspire for years to come.
